From Jessie Wetherbe in California….
“I never met Beca in person, but her being inspired me to embrace my desires and live my life on earth more fully. She was a precious sould who touched many lives! To Beca.”
“In memory of our wonderful, adorable Beca who will always be in my heart.” – Don Kuhn
“Beca was a true Stephens College woman and embodied the 10 ideals. Her courage, support, belief, responsibility and leadership continue to be experienced through her dream of blacking out melanoma. I honor her and all the Stephens College women supporting her in the walk/run. Keep the hope alive!” – Susan Bartel
Skin Cancer Awareness is so important, and I wish I could be there to help show my support, but I live in WI. I do everything I can to help spread awareness to anyone. My husband, Tom, recently passed away on Valentine’s day from Metastatic Melanoma. He had just turned 39 2 weeks prior. He fought courageously for 5 years, 4 month, and we had a miracle son 2 years ago. I wish you ALL THE BEST and Thank You for organizing this benefit walk to raise awareness and help research this terrible disease.
Looking forward to meeting everyone. We are so very touched by this story and will keep Beca in our prayers. We know firsthand the miracle working powers of our God! This will be my first race ever, I’ve recently lost 80 pounds and wanted to pick a very special race for my first one. After reading Beca’s story, I knew this was the race for me! I’ve told several people at my gym about this race and I am certain a few of them will also sign up!

I want to extend my deepest sympathies in hearing of Beca’s passing. My mother passed away from metastatic melanoma this past October at the age of 53 and I know all too well how awful this disease is. I am so happy that Beca and her family have put together something to raise awareness and save lives. I am so happy to help! If there is anything else I can do to help please let me know. My sister and I are planning on signing up for the 5k and are looking forward to being a part in the special day.
Sincerely, Lindsay Burgess
